The Seahawks did play better, as Coach Mora promised. They displayed better team effort and had less errors, physical and mental, than the previous game. Statistically, they won the game–more 1st downs, more 3rd down conversions, greater net yards + running yards + passing yards. The key of the game was that Chicago made their [...]

Where did this team come from?!!??
Vallos snapping balls over the QB or two inches off the ground? Unger getting a whistle for holding? Matt getting injured? Housh missing a catch? Carlson being called for a false start? Sloppy play by both the offense and the defense? Frye is playing? Burleson dropping passes? The disappearance of [...]

YEAH, SEAHAWKS! WIN #1 AND A SHUTOUT AT THAT!!!
I didn’t get my pre-game notes up prior to the game so I’m incorporating them into this one.

“Seahawks coach Jim Mora and defensive coordinator Gus Bradley have called out players in front of their teammates. Coaches pointed out “loafs” as part of team [...]

Clare Farnsworth, Blog, seahawks.com – Olindo Mare won the K position battle that I’ve followed this preseason. He gets the lowdown from Coach Mora has to why he was chosen over Coutu. This is something I’ve been curious about as I thought Coutu did very well this preaseason.

It’s no secret that Coach Mora has been treating this preseason game like it was a regular season game, and has approached it the same way regarding practice and planning.
The KC game is important for the starters as it will be their final preseason tuneup. For the rest of the players, it’s time to make [...]

Clare Farnsworth has this great article about the second unit linebackers [Will Herring, David Hawthorne (Heater), DD Lewis, and Lance Laury] and how well they’ve been playing.
Eric Williams of seahawksinsider notes that Coach Knapp has decided to use Unger at Guard and not Center. Knapp feels that Vallos is the man for that position. He [...]

Wow! I have to admit I did not give this rumor much credence given Coach Mora’s stated support of the the current group of RBs Jones, Duckett, and Forsett.
I have mixed feelings about this prior to this morning’s scheduled press conference.
I think Duckett is getting shafted to large degree if this turns out [...]

Coach Mora – I’ve been quite impressed with him so far. He has definitely shaken up the usual routine for the ‘Hawks this year, with new coaches, philosophies, training routines, and most noticeably increasing the pace of practice on the field. I liked the way he kept his head down & mouth shut last year [...]
