Clare Farnsworth, Blog, seahawks.com – Olindo Mare won the K position battle that I’ve followed this preseason. He gets the lowdown from Coach Mora has to why he was chosen over Coutu. This is something I’ve been curious about as I thought Coutu did very well this preaseason.

Huskies & the Roster Cuts
The Huskies played with fire & competitiveness!
The Seahawks waived a player who seemed to be a “lock” to start on announcing their roster cuts. A fair amount of the players cut were deep on the depth chart. You can see the full list here.
The name that was bit startling to hear [...]

Below are the highlights that I have gathered for this game:
Mike Teel was fantastic – 2 TDs, no interceptions – the guy is not playing like a rookie!!! The Hawks definitely will have something to think about re the draft if he keeps improving at this rate for the rest of the year (ie, do [...]

It’s no secret that Coach Mora has been treating this preseason game like it was a regular season game, and has approached it the same way regarding practice and planning.
The KC game is important for the starters as it will be their final preseason tuneup. For the rest of the players, it’s time to make [...]

That is when all the backup players will be fighting to show the deserve a spot on the roster or the practice squad.
Mike Sando & Eric Williams have two good posts dealing with topic. Click their names to see their articles. One thing I learned from Sando is that 3 WR will not be eligible [...]

Here are some of the things I’ll being paying attention to against Denver
How well the offensive line does in the continued absence of Walt
Can the defense continue to do well vs the run?
Create more pressure on the QB & get some sacks?
Will the backup CBs show improvement from the last game?
See if Curry can make [...]

I’ve always wondered about the different terms for WR such as Flanker, Split End, and Slot. Or, using modern terminology the X, Y, and Z positions. Clare Farnsworth has a great plain-English article about this on yesterday’s Seahawks.com webpage. All quoted material used here is from that article.
He also goes a bit into the depth [...]
